The Green Party Trade Union Group is part of the Green Party of England & Wales, set up under the rules of GPEW on the same basis as its other sub-groups
Membership of GPTU is open to any current members of GPEW.
The usual method of joining will be to join the GPTU email list, (contact Noel Lynch: noellynch@tiscali.co.uk ).
GPEW members can also join by contacting GPTU committee members.
GPTU aims to provide a discussion forum and support for GP members in who sometimes find themselves in a minority in their Trades Unions.
GPTU also aims to further good relations between GPEW and Trades Unions and the labour movement nationally, internationally, locally and regionally, by putting forward policy and campaign proposals to GPEW and to Trades Unions. It campaigns on behalf of GPEW by participating in Trades Union and other political and cultural events and by drafting and distributing appropriate publicity materials. GPTU aims to encourage Trades Unions to give financial and other support to GPEW.
The next GPTU meeting will be the AGM at Conference 24th-27th February, Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool, Sunday 26th Feb 17.00 Nominations are invited for committee posts, email nominations can be accepted if sent to the Secretary at yrrumuk@yahoo.co.uk.
